Pity. I always like proverb

Pity. I always like sharing a stage with Jack. It makes me look even smarter.
  Ken Livingstone

[Big problem over next week's conference. Jack's down to do a fringe meeting with Ken Livingstone but it clashes with the launch of Wendy Alexander's book on Donald Dewar. Jack, of course, simply has to be there, because big Brown is turning up as well. Any chance Jack can get to share the same room with Gordon at the moment he grabs. So I had to ring up to persuade Livingstone to cancel to give us an excuse to call off as well.] Pity, ... I always like sharing a stage with Jack. It makes me look even smarter.
  Ken Livingstone

Jack-This makes me feel like a man.
Will-Yeah.
Jack- No, seriously, I'm going to need a man after we're done.

All right. I listen. My life sinks a little
farther, for the pity; from now on I know it
with them. We'll take a stand, wherever the end is.
We go forward by this quiet sharing,
they one way, I another. I am their promise:
no one else is going to know.

Hatred is a tonic, it makes one live, it inspires vengeance; but pity kills, it makes our weakness weaker.
  Honoré de Balzac

Initially, you focus a little better. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. You want an edge. It's a stimulant that makes you feel like you're smarter. Makes you feel quicker. Makes you think you are more mentally alert.

We dropped a few minutes on the second stage today when we had to change a front left puncture, which is a real pity as we were quickest on stage one. I think we'll need a lot of luck for a win now but I'm happy with our pace this afternoon; the car is feeling good and we only have to make minor changes tonight. We have another repeated set of stages tomorrow; most people seem to make up time the second time through so I prefer to try and take a bit of an advantage on the first run.

The great thing about a vibrant art scene ... is that it makes you a smarter city. Smarter cities get ahead in this world. More creative cities get ahead in this world. ... If you're not on the cutting edge, you're falling behind,

She makes a coach look smart. She makes me look smarter than I am.

Hi! We're at a Jack Johnson concert and he's just walked on stage. That was Glenn you just were talking to.

Of course you feel extra pity for Tommy ending with losing on penalties. In a way it's always easier to lose a game when the other team is better and you can accept it afterward. So it was pity for Tommy, an extra pity.

Our employees feel an ownership in the company. Last year we paid over half a million dollars in profit sharing and bonuses. Employees know profit sharing is tied to what the company makes.

Whatever I'm sharing with somebody half my age I'm getting equally, at least, the same back from them, ... What Eliza does for me, with me on the stage, is kick it up a notch.
  Joan Baez

Jack thought long and hard about it. It was very flattering for him that Carolina was so interested but Jack just feels his development is best served by staying another year at school. It was a tough decision but Jack feels good about it.

God Himself takes pity on His humble servants, and makes them His own.
