We have seen repeated proverb

We have seen repeated sightings of people wandering around the airport(s) unauthorized, people that have not gone through the proper security check and the fact that at regional airports there are no security checks at all, ... The government should have acted much earlier.

Travelers will indeed see increased security measures at our airports, train stations, and other key sights, ... There will be higher levels of surveillance, more stringent searches. Airport curbside luggage check-in will no longer be allowed. There will be more security officers and random identification checks.

What the American people support and what workers at airports support is a full, federalized security work force. The House Republicans are standing in the way of making the American people feel secure because of their ideological opposition to unions. We believe everyone in airport security should be a federal employee. If it's good enough for the Justice Department or the FBI, it ought to be good enough for airport security.

For every security provision we put in place, there's a civil right done away with, ... There's a limit to how much security people want. Many people feel violated after they've been through check-in at the airport.

I lean toward federalizing airport security, but it's how you do it. I personally feel that a nonprofit organization or corporation of some sort (could be) set aside to run security in the airports. I worry about creating another federalized bureaucracy.

People have developed a false sense of security when it comes to checks. They feel check fraud is something that happens to someone else.

The Registered Traveler Program is a significant step forward in the effort to balance aviation security and traveler convenience. It's a win-win proposition for consumers, businesses, airports, airlines and for the government. While travelers enjoy a more relaxing, less time consuming security screening process, the government can focus its security resources on more likely potential threats.

All these people were able to take advantage of a gross security failure at this airport. These people could come in with a bogus Social Security numbers and get employed. The upshot is, post-September 11th, anybody could do this.

There's no advantage to this at any airport. It doesn't speed anything up and people would pay $80 for the same security they get now. There's no better security. It's just a lot of smoke and mirrors.

We began tightening security earlier this year after a congressional study released in December warned of the need for tighter security (at smaller airports and over private planes). We also have sent the study to our tenants.

In an environment providing real-time information to media, any security incident, triggered with malicious intent or not, can have disastrous consequences. For a highly visible event like the Olympic Games, the challenge of IT security is not only to prevent unauthorized people from accessing the systems, but to control the activity of authorized people inside the games' network.

The hiring of locally engaged staff (LES) has been a slow, cumbersome and sometimes fruitless process at Mission Iraq, ... Due to the security situation and a lack of a well-established national security structure, performing proper background checks on LES candidates is very difficult and yields uncertain results.

People are very insecure. It's a common thread, ... All of these people have security questions in some way, whether it's Social Security, retirement security. People feel that gaping holes are being cut out in their safety nets.
