I came from a proverb

 I came from a smaller town and I just kept setting small goals and achieving them. Anybody can make it. You just have to work hard and I think I showed that.

 The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum. The most important rules that I ever adopted to help me in achieving my goals were those I learned from a very successful man who taught me to first write down the goal, and then to never leave the site of setting a goal without firs taking some form of positive action toward its attainment.

 In my life I was not the star athlete growing up. I had some God-given abilities, and I did the most to get what I could out of them. Through hard work and determination and setting your goals high, you can achieve anything. But you really have to work hard at it everyday.

 They are setting their goals high and working hard to reach those goals.

 I don't think there's any such thing as setting your goals too high. The higher you set your goals, the more you are going to work, ... If you don't reach, then it's OK, just as long as you set it and then give a hundred percent of yourself.

 This year, we're focusing on our small goals. Our small goals are to win every at-bat, win every pitch. To win the SEC, we're not looking ahead from game to game. ... We're not looking for the next two weekends, but we're looking at [Alabama] for the next two days, and we're going to push hard and try to beat them.
