A few things conspired against me. The club (Lierse) got a new coach and I got a knee injury that sidelined me for some time. It put me back and by the time I returned, the coach was not interested in me any more. That's how it goes in professional football. |
Every time I go into camp people say how sharp I'm looking and that's fantastic for your self-belief, |
I can't stop smiling at the moment. |
I guess I get asked more about that game than anything else, |
I think it would be a tremendous career move for me. It's always been my ambition to try and play for one of the big European clubs, and PSV are very successful and are playing in the Champions League. |
I'm absolutely rapt right now, it's been a great couple of weeks. But I'm working hard at training and believe there is plenty more of that to come, |
I'm feeling sharper, fitter, faster and more confident than ever. I'm loving life in Melbourne where the buzz about the club - and my relationship with the fans - is second to none. |
It has been over the top, |
It just seemed to be stuck to my foot. |
It put a lot of pressure on me because there was a bit of an expectation that I would score plenty of goals every time I played. |
It was good to be working under the new coach (Guus Hiddink), ... He seems to like lean, sharp players so I think I fit the mould. |

It would be great to get a transfer to a big club like PSV. |

Look, if circumstances were a little different, I'd still be in Europe, |
