Meghan asked me if she could be an assistant coach. Her presence around the team is so important. She is so respected and liked by all the girls that we felt honored for her to be back with us. |
Our senior leadership has stepped up and contributed. We have experience on our side. |
The hurricane definitely hit us hard like everybody on the Coast. We have girls living in trailers, no practice facilities ... We didn't want it to end like this, but we made it to the championship and we'll return. |
There are many jobs that pay more than coaching in high school. But they don't print currency the value of what I have experienced with everything that has happened with our school this season, and Meghan's miracle. |
We have a motto this year that says, 'Katrina crushed our school, but not our spirit' and we've tried to live by that. The toughest part is that most of my team is living in FEMA trailers. That's been a huge transition for them. And then we've not only lost key players, but friends. |
We have played better. We missed some chances as Mercy Cross did a great job defending. |
We've turned the focus from the turmoil of the hurricane and injuries to each game. We're not overlooking anyone. We do expect it to be a physical game tonight. |
