Apple is less fearful of publishing honestly on issues like China and democracy than the others, but it's relative. It's independent, but it's also shallow.

I think the people have spoken very loudly and clearly,

I wonder why this figure wasn't released along with the others last week. They should tell us (what their plans are) and also disclose other items,

It's a powerful way for people to know that we have not forgotten. It's reassuring to see so many people turn out to say they have not forgotten the atrocities of 1989.

That was really bad. Mr. Zhang had said we could have an honest dialogue, but when we raised the issues that the Hong Kong people are concerned about, he got angry.

The first of July is the first day of Chinese rule and the signal they're sending to the outside world is very negative.

The message they are sending to the Hong Kong people and the rest of the world is that the Court of Final Appeal's decisions are no longer final. Every time where the authorities disagree with the verdict, they can go to Beijing and ask them to interpret again and thereby overturn the verdict.

They support democracy, and the pro-democracy candidates have scored a resounding victory. I certainly hope the people in Beijing would be watching closely.

They would like to have the tools with which they can hit the people and shut the people up, and I think Article 23 is one of those tools.

We have demonstrated to Hong Kong and to the rest of China, if people are allowed to get the news, what democracy is all about.

We have to thank Donald because from what I have heard, people are not happy at being told what to do by him. He didn't look good and it did him no good at all. He may even have encouraged more people to join our march.

We've been working on this bill for so many years, and you were planning to rush it through in one day?

What he's saying now is, wait, we've got to consult Beijing. We don't even know what the basic law means. This is ludicrous.

What Mr. Wang is saying is that the media should exercise self-censorship; that they should have blacklists of people and organizations they should ban, and also we should be very careful when we cover Taiwan affairs, ... That is very, very worrying.

You can call it a farce; it's not an election in the way you know it, but that's Hong Kong, it's very sad.
