(That building) might not be here when we come back, but we'll make sure we can play football. |
All you have to do is look at the preseason articles. All they were talking about is playing Cuero. I hope they're so psyched out they're biting the goal posts. |
I don't think it's one of those deals where you go in thinking I'm going to hold this back. We're not going to hold anything back. If we see them again, so what. |
I think offensively we're pretty good right now. Defensively, we're pretty good in the secondary and that's allowed us to do enough to keep us in the ballgames. |
If you teach them to do it right, you win. If you don't teach them to do it right, you lose. The big key is consistency. Each group is accountable to each other and things are real defined. Are you hitting the line or not? Are you growling (during drills) or not? Are you reaching the top lip or not? Are you going on command or not? We have to find out how do you react to coaching. We are always making adjustments. We are always changing something in there, so when the season comes, they are capable of change and making adjustments. |
That's the first time I've ever done that in my life. It was probably just a gut feeling. You can't be afraid to lose. I never thought we weren't going to complete that pass. |
The last three years we've been eliminated from the playoffs on the last drive of the game. We've been close the last three years. We have to find out what it takes to get us through that barrier. |
There is no set timetable. You want to get to a perfect day, where there are no mistakes, and continue from there. Anybody can do something right one day. But the football season is a grind. You have to get where you're getting to a new level every day. It's a process. You may have a great day today, but you also want to have a great day tomorrow. |
They're a good team. That's why we schedule them. They'll be the best defensive team we've played. |
When it gets down to it, our players are not going to win for me, our coaches, or our community. They are going to win for each other. The more they work hard to reach their goal, the more they hold each other accountable. |
