We have a very mixed situation. There are a few bright spots, but it's a bit disappointing that there hasn't been a follow through from what we saw Friday (with stocks rising). However, that is to be expected as the market responds to oversold conditions and tries to set a base.

What you need to do is brace yourself. We've gone through bad moments before. This is not the first time and it won't be the last.

What we're seeing is the opposite of two years ago, when every Tom, Dick and Harry was in the market. Now, everybody is shying away from that.

We have some technology stocks moving higher and the large amounts of cash sitting on the sidelines will be coming back into the market. These are just relief rallies with investors trying to pick up bargains.

The market is trying to rally again and that's encouraging. But whether yesterday (Wednesday) was really the big capitulation day remains to be seen. The market is probably going to drift in the next week or so as it finds its footing after the run-up.

I think you're seeing buying today because of anticipation ahead of some of the economic and corporate news due in the next two days, particularly Dell tomorrow.

It's quite encouraging. The sentiment is better and you've got the indexes passing the highs of the year and holding, so you've got some technical support as well.

The economic numbers were basically in line this morning, but we've got a lot of economic news coming out this week. Earnings are pretty much over with, and they were pretty mixed, so investors are now looking to see that the economy won't stall in the second quarter before they're going to be willing to buy.

The low volume confirms that everyone is sitting on their hands. They don't want to venture until there is clarity on the Iraq situation.

There's still very low volume, which leaves the bears in control, and the market remains sensitive to the war factor.

The economic news today wasn't good -- obviously it leads to worries of inflation. But that should have been expected, with oil and metals trading higher. It has to translate into inflation. The market continues to drift in a sea of uncertainty -- the geopolitical issues are still the main concern.

The market remains technically weak, ... The story hasn't changed.

We had some positive earnings reports, but I think the fact that we had jobless claims that were above and beyond what was expected derailed some enthusiasm,
