He's here, he's paying his own way for classes, and he's taking part in football activities. He's a walk-on who'll be fighting for a chance to play, just like everybody else. |
He's kind of moved on and is looking forward and not looking back. |
He's never thrown a ball like that since I've seen him. He's a guy that's not going to force a ball, but that one should have gone into the stands. These are the things he's going to have to learn from. He's as upset with himself as anybody. |
He's the type of guy that's going to do all the things that you want to do. He understands the scheme that we're playing very well. He has experience at his position and he's going to play hard all the time. That's what he's been able to do. His experience and his ability to understand what's going on have put him in a favorable position. |
He's throwing the ball better and is making good decisions. He can hurt you throwing the ball and running the ball. |
I am extremely disappointed for our seniors that weren't able to get this game and extend their season. Our kids competed hard and played hard, but playing hard doesn't get you what you want. And what we wanted was a win. |
I don't know how he's going to play, |
I don't know if he's all the way back, but I know this, he's a lot better now than what he was at the end of last season. I think he feels a lot more comfortable. There are things that he's doing that I think he's getting close to exactly where he was before. I've been pleased with what he's been able to do and the workload that we've been able to give him this spring. |
I don't now if there's a clear-cut leader. I think three of the four had their moments last year. |

I expect Dennis, being relaxed, to go out and play the game. It's interesting, the one thing about him, the fact that he's coming from Miami is that he's played in front of 10 to 15,000 people before. I know it's not 40,000, but from what I have seen out of him he's a poised young man and a confident young man. |
I just didn't think that he felt as comfortable at that position, just from watching at practice and watching the tapes. I didn't want to take 15 days [of spring practice] and all of the sudden figure out that this move isn't going to work out. That was pretty much it more than anything else. Some guys you can move and you can see that they feel natural. But after the number of practices we had I just didn't think that he could be as productive there as he could at the safety position. |
I just wish if Ed wanted to play football he would have come and saw me. We would have definitely given him an opportunity. |
