This has been a very tough three weeks. We haven't had a whole lot to smile about. This will give them a chance to feel good about themselves and put behind them everything that's going on in their lives.

He called the second we walked into the locker room. That was pretty cool. He was happy. Real emotional. He was happy. He was happy for his teammates.

We haven't exactly given him a ton of opportunities. That's probably bad coaching. He can score when he's aggressive.

The bottom line is, when you know you're gonna play, you know people are gonna count on you and you know you're gonna get minutes, you play a little bit more freed up. Let's face it. We have nothing to lose right now.

For one day, for two hours, they did the things they had to do when they had to do them. We made enough shots and got enough stops to win the game, which I think they deserve, to have a chance to feel good about themselves.

I know one thing. It would have been devastating to our team. We've been able to get them back each time. I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm not sure I would've been able to get them back if that basket counted.

We didn't even discuss it. We didn't say, 'Well, you've got to play well tonight because ....' ... That guy's heart is as pure as Ivory soap.

Life's not fair. My team knows that more than any team in America right now.

I'm proud that we're 2-0 without him. I'm just happy again ... that these kids have a reason to smile, and that's important.

People say it balances out. I guess this is one that the basketball gods smiled down on a group of kids that needed somebody to smile on them.

There's a lot of things that have gone on in this kid's life that really, quite honestly, have affected his ability to focus on basketball. We had a good talk about a week ago, when he was really down, and I think that was positive.

When you're not getting a ton of minutes, I think it's easy to have self-doubt. I probably didn't empower him as much as I probably should have -- just getting him to believe in himself.
