A day like (Thursday), you make nine birdies and it's really tough to go out the next day and do the same. I still rolled it pretty well, still have confidence in my putting. I've just got to give myself some more chances. |
Coming in, I lost a little bit of confidence. I wasn't nervous, but I wasn't as relaxed as I wanted to be. I think that is normal. |
I came in this week and it just feels easy. |
I don't think it's going to be as easy as that sounds. I'm going to try to take it in stride and do my best. It's going to be a crazy week, and I want to try to enjoy it. |
I had never had a big lead like that in a big tournament, ... I didn't know how to handle it. I was hoping to get off to a good start and never look back and not have to worry about it. Hopefully I learned a lot today and next time, hopefully I will handle it a little better. |
I still have people come up to me and tell me 'Good job in Reno last year.' That means a lot. Even though the NEC is going on and it's a bigger tournament, people still follow Reno. |
I tried to stick to my game plan; the way I was playing the last three days. I was coming out of my shot a little. I was aiming for the middle of the green. |
I was not panicking, but I was definitely worrying about my swing. It's not been good at all. I didn't want to go into Augusta not swinging well. That's the last thing I want to worry about. |
I was swinging really well on the front nine. I was hitting it really close to the hole and was feeling it. I can't remember a tournament tapping in and knocking in 2- or 3-footers for birdie as often as I have here. That's always nice. |
I went to the range and said I wasn't going to leave until I figured it out. It took about three hours. Probably like nine bags of balls. |
I'm not going to take a day off. I'm just going to keep a club in my hand every day. That's the key. |
I'm really proud of myself to let it go. In the past I would have lost my head and ended up shooting 80-something. I made two doubles and a triple today and shot 1-over. I played well, and I'm not going to let a few holes bother me. |
I've been hitting it well and doing everything pretty well, really. |
I've been hitting it well and doing everything pretty well, really. I've had quite a few tap-ins and 3- or 4-footers, which is always nice. |
I've never had a big lead before, |
