 There's something about (horror) that strikes a chord with audiences. It doesn't depend on a big star as much as a good concept.

 You see this type of buzz for movies like 'Star Wars,' 'Lord of the Rings,' typical big blockbusters. But for a film that's a very high concept horror film with a solid cast, it's unusual.

 Concerns about ethics tend to be episodic, and those episodes are stimulated when there are horror strikes. And, of course, Tennessee Waltz was a real horror story.

 They were hard on us, because these were jazz guys, ... Earl Van Dyke and Joe Hunter were always on our backs. I'd show them different chord progressions, and they'd say, 'What kind of playing are you doing, man? That's not a C chord.'  That idea is really more of a five-star hotel concept. If you look at all the cities around the world, any five-star hotel that has been incorporated in the last 15 years has a residential component.
