He's probably our most consistent defensive lineman.

He made more plays in one week at linebacker than he made the entire season at safety last year. I just think he's comfortable there. He doesn't have to think as much, and he can get to the football.

We don't have any depth there.

Our backup line is inexperienced, and they're not ready to play right now.

I've been involved in springs where, the last week, you're going backward -- you go out for the spring game and the quarterback throws three interceptions, the running backs fumble and the offense doesn't score a touchdown. Overall I was pleased with today. We have a long way to go but I liked the way some things looked today. Being at Heinz Field was good, the atmosphere was good. We were able to get in about 100 plays and we came out healthy which is very important.

The offense overall looked good. There was good protection, no turnovers and no fumbles. I was encouraged by the way they looked today. Getting those little things right gives you the chance to win.

As a whole, the defense looked good. A few guys really showed up to play today. Developing the defensive line is one of our challenges and I was encouraged today.

He was the ideal guy, because of his athletic ability, to move around and get in some mismatch situations -- flank him out, move him around, trick people and throw him the ball.

When we run our tosses and our powers and our heavy run game, he's got to block somebody. He needs it. In the long run, it'll be the best thing that's happened to him.

Charles really helped himself at the Senior Bowl, he was dominant against some of the top defensive line prospects. He's worked out well at every step of the way. He did well at the combine and at our pro day. We had to move him to tackle and he adapted quickly and made the most of it. He's going to have a nice career.

Somebody convinced Greg early he was going to be a high pick. It's unfortunate, because you only get a chance to be drafted once.
