I think most players are involved in the negotiations, to some extent. Jim and I have a pretty good relationship where we can talk. I think that helped things. We talked a couple of times here at the end. He knew where I was coming from and I knew where he was coming from.

You kind of look at the market and see where players comparable to you are. And you find a number you think is fair for you. I told my agent this number pretty much from the very beginning. I said it's as simple as that, we get here and I sign the deal. It's a simple as that.

I don't think that we should be satisfied. We played decent, but I felt like we kind of let down after the big St. Louis series. That happens, but we can't allow that to happen because it'll catch up to you.

Dusty was one of the main reasons I was excited to come here. He's one of the best managers in the game. He's so easy to play for and supports his players so much. This team deserves Dusty, so hopefully we can get it worked out where he can be here for a while.
