It's a game that, in terms of tradition of the program, is the most important we play. In this season, for both teams, it's a game that if you win it, you look at it as an excellent season. If you lose it, it's probably a disappointing season.

I don't think we'd ever treat any school like we were treated at Ohio State. Commissioner Jim Delany has instituted a new rule that if you're going to have something like that, you must notify people beforehand, and that's a thing you'd expect as a general courtesy.

I thought our team, despite some of the things we were challenged with, fought back and played through some adversity, and I'm proud of this football team. I think the thing I've been impressed with is how we've competed.

I told him before he got on that I was worried about him -- but I was only joking. Then, when I heard he fell off, I wasn't surprised. He tried to explain to me what happened. That's something none of us will forget.

It was a Sunday or a Monday in terms of game-week preparation, and those are days we do not practice. It worked out perfectly.

We've worked hard on it, but the key to the Nebraska defense is up-front four. That'll be a real test for us.

It works both ways, your opponent also has the same amount of time, so there's always some new wrinkles and there's adjustments when you get there because of the amount of time you have to prepare.

You look back at the last 30 years, and they've won more national championships than anybody in the country. We have a history with Nebraska going back to the (1986) Fiesta Bowl and, of course, the '97 co-national championship.

We've played some very, very fine defensive fronts, and I think this is the best we've played. They lead the nation in sacks. I think that alone tells you the challenge we have.

It's one last opportunity to play and against an outstanding program. So we're excited to do that.

I think certainly the '97 team raised the bar at Michigan. They raised expectations, which were already enormous. But I think the goal of every Michigan team since then is to win the national championship. And I think we all recognize how difficult that is to do. And yet it's certainly a goal worth pursuing. I think we're trying to pursue that every day.

I'll keep my comments to those players who are here. I assume they'll all come back.

I recommended Bill to Bo as a graduate assistant. Before Bo could make a decision, Bill went to Illinois, and his career took off.

The turnovers were really monumental. The offense was outstanding in the first half. We gave our offense some opportunities but didn't capitalize on it.

I thought the second half we did some very good things. The turnovers were really monumental, there's no question about that.
