This is where I started my career and this is where I believe I will end my career. This is where I belong. This is my home.

I have had an incredible journey playing the game I love and my decision to retire has been a very difficult one for me.

It was a lot of fun. I do wish I would have scored on that shot, but it was a very special night. It was amazing how nervous I was at the beginning. I don't think I ever felt that way, but I knew down deep it was my last game here. I had a bunch of scoring chances and I enjoyed it. I'm real happy we won. What a way to go out.

This is L.A., and people usually leave early, but everybody was still there. I can't believe they stayed all the way to the end like that, with the traffic in L.A. It was the first time I've seen that, and it was very overwhelming.

Definitely you could tell tonight the guys wanted to win. That's probably the best game we've played in the last three weeks. We all gave it a little extra, and I'm thankful for that.

I call it a celebration. I mean, that's how I feel. It's been the greatest time in my life. I've been living my dream.

As a hockey player, you play for the team and for your teammates. You never play for yourself or think about yourself. This is not tennis, where you're alone on the court. Hockey is a team game, so this is very hard for me to handle. It certainly is overwhelming.

When I came in and saw what they did, it's almost embarrassing that they're making this about me.

It really hit me this morning, in the morning skate, when I was getting myself ready to play. Halfway through, I realized it was my last. ... It was really fun to play this one.

What the Sharks did, it shocked the heck out of me. We've always been rivals, but I think they know how much I love this game, and how much I've given to it.

I told (a team executive), 'You guys owe me big on this one. That's a lot of freakin' jerseys.

It's whoever makes the best decisions, character-wise, and the team that treats its players the best that's going to win. It's not about overspending anymore. That's why I believe (the Kings can win).

Selling L.A. is going to be easy. Phil (Anschutz, the Kings' co-owner) should offer the young guys a movie role.

We've watched the TV and seen everything that has happened in New Orleans, ... But this has affected [many areas]. I have seen photos, and it is horrible all around. There is not a place left standing.
