I felt pretty good yesterday, not great. But today's probably the first day I have absolutely no discomfort, no tightness, no nothing -- besides just the general soreness in the spot that I got hit, but that [isn't a factor] when I throw a baseball.

It's going to be fun. It's a challenge. I think everybody on this staff, including myself, you want to be out there in an important game and be that guy who has got to make the pitches and get the job done.

If I have a bad outing or even a good one, it's over with, it's done with good or bad, and move on. You can't sit here and dwell on it and worry about it and get frustrated about it. You move on to next year and get yourself more prepared.

Compared to what it was yesterday, it's 100 percent better, but it's still not good enough. I still can't quite look far enough to pick up the catcher.

I can get full extension in my arms and move it from side to side. It only hurts when I tilt it back and look up. I'll have to see how it feel tomorrow.

A lot of people thought I didn't like St. Louis. I loved it. Don't get me wrong. I loved Oakland. But the year I had in St. Louis - with the fans, the city and the baseball atmosphere - was so much fun. What could be better than that? It's a great team moving into a new stadium. I can't say enough about the situation.

Izzy told me the first time you're traded or released and go somewhere else is the hardest. After that, it's no problem. I can now understand why people say that. It wasn't hard making an adjustment. It was just different.

I'm looking for someone who is going to be open to the public. It's got to be black and white with us. That seems to be something that a lot of politicians just don't understand. Mayor Munson, quite honestly, could have been more open.

I'd rather see the guy out there now. He always did an unbelievable job as a closer, but you never exactly knew how he was going to get there. He's unbelievably talented. I saw him for five years in the American League. He's got as good a stuff as anybody.

We were talking about him the other day. He could be starting for 25 major league teams. It's tough. But you don't want to be frustrated by it. You go out and do your thing and whatever happens, happens.
