I don't think he's going to be running for political office any time soon. He just enjoys pitching. If he could just move all this into his hometown, I think he'd be perfectly fine with that.

Their pitching is much improved over last year,

We are a different club and we are probably not as offensively as potent as we were last year. We certainly don't have the possibility to break a game open with the long balls like we did last year. You've got to tip your hat to David Eckstein. He plays the game as hard as you can play it. On the other side, you don't like him because he really gets in your hair, but you appreciate what he does.

What Mulder has done is really solidify their rotation. It enables them to put pitchers in a third and fourth position that they would like and it gives them a very strong rotation.

Roy is not a promoter. He's very laid-back. That's not a show he puts on.

They have guys that can get on base, they have guys that can hit the ball out of the ballpark and hit for a high average. So they are not an easy club to have to face and they are not an easy club to defend.

They have beaten us up pretty badly this year. It's just a matter of pride that we wouldn't want to see them celebrate again here. We'd like to change that.
