He had a lot of things that nobody ever knew, ... He had a [sore] groin the last two weeks that was not feeling very good.

Early in the game he located very well, then he got a little stronger as the game went and he made a couple of mistakes. But it? We have some new people, they've just been outstanding. We lost some terrific guys, there's no denying that; but some terrific guys have come in. I'm very excited about the makeup of our ball club.

We have a lot of faith in him, but it's nice to see him out there being healthy. If he's healthy, then he's just competing.

He got stronger as he went deeper.

Before he could get in a rhythm, he was down four runs. He just didn't have command of his pitches.

I really want to try to get guys in there earlier rather than later. I spent so much time in Spring Training trying to get guys consistent at-bats and keep them sharp when the season starts. I don't want that to all just go to [waste].

He told me, 'I don't have trouble throwing strikes.' I thought he was throwing the ball great this spring. I really don't think it puts him behind, besides the fact that we can't use him. I think he's going to help us. I think he'll be fine.
