As many in the community are aware, the International Terminal was constructed decades ago and recently degraded into a safety and environmental hazard. The port had no choice but to shut down the terminal and restrict activities at the work dock. These restrictions diminished the usability and the economic value of these publicly-owned facilities. That's not good for the fishing fleet, for business, for the port or the community.

This is a significant investment that will have an immediate positive impact on our company and, more importantly, will provide significant growth potential for us over the long term.

Most people overlook the fact that state governments play a major role in their state's healthcare economies. States provide billions of dollars in Medicaid reimbursement. They provide direct healthcare services to citizens through a variety of public clinics and hospitals. And, they purchase insurance for tens of thousands of state employees. Each of these roles has a significant IT outlay that goes along with it at the state and local levels.

It will also provide consultation services on assessment of training demand, post-training evaluation and productivity improvement.

A major earthquake near the Delta or a severe break in Delta levees would cause significant flooding at great human and economic cost for the (San Francisco) Bay area and the state. Congress needs to provide this funding before it's too late.
