en We are greatly encouraged by the success and national attention Massachusetts has earned when it decided that health insurance is something no one should go without. We want to build on that progress and keep this important dialogue going in order to make covering the uninsured a national priority.

en It is important that Michigan residents express their concern and let members of Congress know that health care coverage is a critical national problem that must be a top Congressional priority. It is time to put politics aside and take meaningful steps toward solutions. In southeast Michigan, we are doing what we can to help those living without health insurance, but this is a national problem that demands national solutions.

en Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements.

en Those with health insurance are overinsured and their behavior is distorted by moral hazard. Those without health insurance use their own money to make decisions based on an assessment of their needs. The insured are wasteful. The uninsured are prudent. So what's the solution? Make the insured a little more like the uninsured.

en The San Antonio area has a significant uninsured rate of 20 percent. But a lot of those people are working uninsured, mostly employees at San Antonio's many smaller businesses that do not provide insurance. Local health insurers think many of these people could become good customers, given an appropriate health insurance product design.

en We'll be looking at issues including Mandate Light, which gives consumers the opportunity to chose what type of (medical) benefits they want and also at possibly doing a health insurance voucher for the uninsured, including businesses that do not currently offer health insurance, as well as individuals who do not have health insurance.

en It's important so the spouses have someplace close to go without having to go to (the national veterans' cemetery in) San Antonio or one of the other national cemeteries, ... earned their right to be here.

en The census numbers tell us what we've known for years -- that soaring health care inflation is making health insurance unaffordable, so more folks go uninsured, and those who can afford it find their policies cover less and less. The data shows a continued deterioration in the use of employer-provided health insurance and increased reliance on Medicaid and public programs. If it had not been for more people moving into public programs, the number of uninsured would have increased another 2.3 million, the statistics show.

en The large and increasing number of uninsured Americans is no longer simply an altruistic concern on behalf of those without health coverage, but a matter of self-interest for everyone, ... The stakes are high both for businesses and for workers who do have health insurance because they bear the brunt of costs for the uninsured.

en This was a tough action for us to take, especially because it impacts many people who have served National well. However, given the continuing weakness in the marketplace, it is necessary to conform our resources to the market in order to maximize National's opportunity for long-term success.

en We have seen strong interest in these plans within the past year, and believe it is important to broaden our offerings, allowing individuals and their families throughout the state of Texas the opportunity to enroll in cost-effective health plans that provide a wide range of choices and benefits levels. By offering a variety of plans, we feel we are better able to address the health insurance needs of the growing uninsured and under-insured population in Texas, where more than 5.4 million people - or 25 percent of the population - are uninsured.

en Nobody on the national or state level is leading the general charge toward making men's health care better. For instance, the National Institutes of Health has an office of women's health but none for men.

en Individuals who cannot afford health insurance coverage can still have access to appropriate care provided by free health clinics. We are pleased to be able to fund better access to healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured and to help limit one of the cost drivers of premiums for the insured -- that is the use of hospitals for non-emergency care by the uninsured.

en Cover the Uninsured Week provides students with unique opportunities to tell our leaders that health care coverage must be a top priority. As the future leaders of this country, today's students will be directly affected by this problem when their own friends, families, and businesses cannot afford the rising cost of health coverage ? and join the ranks of the uninsured as a result. How to provide affordable, consistent care for the uninsured is not taught in any textbook or classroom. We are grateful that students and their teachers are using their energy and activism to spread the word that every man, woman, and child in America must have health care coverage and our leaders must take action.

en This is a national problem. Insurance companies sell you a policy and then they break their promises and they cherry-pick and only insure those that are healthy. Dare you get sick, your coverage is revoked. This makes a mockery of health insurance.
