en I understand I'll be the first one from this team, and that does make it special. I'm just thrilled to get picked.

en What makes this team so special is the fact that they don't take any of it for granted. They understand the big picture. There is no guarantee for us next year. They understand that.

en I'm pretty sure it won't be picked up unless I win 25 games. They want to make sure I'm healthy first. I understand that. They want to know that I can make 32-33 starts and pitch 200-plus innings. I do, too.

en You can't worry about that. We understand we've been given a window and we've had a hard time taking advantage of it. You never know, you can wake up the next day and the team may not want you. I don't think anybody is worried about getting traded right now. We understand the business. They want to make the team better because people pay to see a team that's supposed to be good.

en He's a special person; he means a lot to this team. He's been very much an inspiration to this team. I think we're driven very much by trying to make this a special year for him.

en The Pittsburgh Penguins have so many veterans – this team isn't just looking to Sidney Crosby to turn them around and make them a great team. I hope that Sidney improves. Let nature take its course as he becomes a star or a superstar. This kid is something special. He is a very, very special athlete and person. For some of us who have been around the league a long time, when someone like this comes around, we all count our blessings and hope he makes it because he is something special.

en We picked a guy that can make a more immediate impact to the success of our football team now than anybody we would have picked in the first round. There wasn't anybody in the first round who could come in and do for us what Trent Green can do for us. That's a fact.

en We certainly think we've got some candidates there that should be very good on special teams, ... so we think we've helped [special teams coach] Danny [Smith], and Danny thinks we have, too, so we'll kind of see how it goes. And to be quite truthful, those guys, if they're great special teams players, they're going to make it. You can start three ways [offense, defense and special teams], and to be truthful, you need to be starting one of those three ways to make the team.

en We were obviously thrilled when we were approached with the opportunity to light the spear. Obviously we have so much respect for our football program and to be the first team to experience that lighting of the torch for a special occasion is really awesome.

en I've been playing basketball for a lot of years and this is the most special one. Our team just cared so much for each other and that helped make it special.

en Thrilled and petrified. Equal measures of both. Thrilled because I have a history with Sundance, which made this feel special and like a real honor. Petrified, I guess, because I think it's never good to go into a film with really high expectations. That can't be in my favor. That's not to say it won't meet them, but what if it doesn't? I hope people will have goodwill toward it.

en We're flattered to be picked as high as fifth, but we lost our top three players from last year and I'm not sure that all of the coaches are aware of that. I believe that our competitiveness will allow us to finish near the top half of the conference but every match for us will be a grind. Whether we're playing the team picked first or picked ninth - we'll have to show up and fight our hearts out in order to have a chance to win.

en I told these kids two things: that this was a special team and we are all winners here no matter what happens. It was just a tremendous pleasure to coach them and be a part of this. To make it to the second round was truly special for us, obviously it was disappointing losing, but it was great. The pleasure was all mine. They were a tremendous team.

en We're particularly thrilled with the upscale nature of the events we've picked up.
