It's fun playing on the road. Don't get me wrong. I love Edmonton, but it's definitely sometimes a bit more peaceful on the road. I feel a lot less pressure. You can just go out there and play the game. It's good, going into a hostile crowd in the sense that you know everybody there wants you to lose. That underdog-facing-the-world attitude is something I've always liked.

Knowing we can go out on the road and play in a hostile environment like this and play to the end ... a game like this has to help us. We've played well on the road, and we'll be at home Thursday, which is good, but if we get by Maize, we'll have to go on the road and play a competitive team.

St. Joe's was a big win for us - that was a statement game. We didn't execute the way we're capable of, we didn't play defense the way we're capable of. When that happens, you lose basketball games, especially on the road. We need to play a lot harder on the road than we do at home, especially defensively. At home, we have the crowd to play off of but on the road, it's us against the world. When you play two on the road, fly home to play Calgary and then fly right back out for three more that's like a road trip to Edmonton in the middle. That's like six straight on the road.

I don't know if it's possible to feel more comfortable on the road because we love playing before our fans. But there's something special about going onto another guy's turf and silencing their fans. There are some teams that feel a lot more confident at home and they aren't as confident on the road. What gets into it, creeps into the mindset, I'm not really sure. I wish I had the answer.

The hostile environment brings that attitude of you against the world. Usually when you hit the road, you don't have to speak of it: It's very physical. It's just you and your traveling party; it's only you and your teammates … and that has a tendency to bring you closer together and give you that attitude.

Our goal was to hold them to under 40 points for the game, so we're happy we were able to do that. It wasn't our prettiest game, but anytime you can get a win on the road in front of a hostile crowd, it's a good victory. The girls did a good job of holding their composure in here tonight.

Playing in front of a hostile crowd is motivation for us. We are used to being the underdog in every big game. We just have to hustle more and win all the loose balls.

I don't think you can count Tokyo as a road trip because it was an aberration from what a normal road trip is. I want to see us react to playing on the road in a hostile environment.
