I regret the fact that we couldn't get it worked out with Mike, ... I always liked Mike, and Mike was a very good player here. He's playing very well right now.

Not in my mind. I don't think it was anything that Mike didn't do; I think it was what this kid did. I know Mike won't agree with it, but Greg's better. He's younger, a little more athletic, snaps the ball a tad bit quicker. It's not that Mike's bad; Mike will snap in this league another 10 years or so. I just think this guy's better.

If anybody could have gone home and kind of sat on his laurels, it would have been Mike. I told Mike, 'You're being awful picky, but it is deeply appreciated.' Mike's a good shortstop, but he wants to be the best.

Chris came off the corner and started to get underneath Mike. Mike came out of the corner too and I saw them make contact. Jeff is the glue to my team. I'd say he's the smartest player I've ever had the privilege of coaching. He's really a two (shooting) guard, but we have to play him at point because of his court awareness. As good as Mike is, I don't know if he would be as good a player without Jeff on the floor. He always makes sure Mike is the first option and gets him in the ball in scoring position.

Right now, where Mike McMahon will be is ahead of Joey Harrington, ... That's just obvious. He's going to know the system better. He's going to know the offense in and out. There's no way that Harrington can just drop right in there. Mike will have to be the guy, and it'll be a good competition. I think he's up to it. In fact, I know he is.
