en What's happened in our league is what I think a lot of us anticipated. Young league teams have gotten better as the season has moved forward. As a result, we're much deeper and more competitive than people maybe thought we were a couple of months ago.

en We thought it would be a competitive league, it is a competitive league. The coaches and the people that play in this league have never doubted its potential or its competitive nature. ... It's a tough league.

en Our league took a hit from people early because we had so many players graduate and so many players leave early (for the NBA), but this was a league with a lot of young talent and with some outstanding coaches. Our league improved as the year went along, and with two teams in the Final Four, I think we've proven ourselves to be a lot better league than people thought we'd be.

en There are several teams in this league that I think are going to be very good. And I feel like we're going to be one of the them. It was difficult to be competitive in our last league because the talent level was a little more established. I think we can be very competitive in this league.

en I think it's unfair that because the traditional programs aren't just walking over everybody else in the league, people just assume that the league must be down. I just think it's a very good league. That's what you strive for when you start a league ? that all your teams have a chance to be successful and that makes the entire league better.

en NBA teams have embraced the NBA Development League as a place to give their young roster players the opportunity to improve and as a source for game tested talent in case of injury. As a result, more investors are seeking to bring the D-League to their communities.

en When I first came in the league, I thought it was a 'welcome-to-the-league scheduling format,' where you open with the two teams who have dominated the league through the course of the last seven or eight years. Now I realize it's a tradition you have to live with.

en As we start our season this year, ... there is no better basketball league in the country, top to bottom. I can make that statement pretty definitively, and the fact that we have a couple of Hall of Fame coaches, and I don't think anyone's going to argue that Rick's going in, and at Marquette, Tom Crean's a terrific young coach, and you go right through the league, Jay Wright's got it going at Villanova now, John Thompson [III] is very good. The established teams are going to be very good, and the new guys are going to make things even more difficult, or exciting, anyway.

en I'm hoping I'll pitch a couple of months and get picked up (by a major-league organization that would then assign him to a minor-league affiliate). It's been a while, so I know people are going to want to see me throw some innings, but I'm excited about the opportunity that's in front of me.

en It was a great year. We had 22 kids on the team. It was one of the bigger teams we've had. Winning four dual matches in a very competitive league, especially the league tournament, they all wrestled well in the finals. We have a great group of eighth-graders coming in next year. We have probably nine really solid eighth-graders. This will be one of the better freshman classes. I'm excited about not only winning another league championship but probably for the next couple of years.
