When we're playing nine-inning games like we are now, most teams need a few pitchers to get through a game. Tyler is very efficient, so he can finish it off himself.

en When you play against a team that has really good pitching, or any pitcher having a hot start, you have to create some ways to win a game. I'm not worried about how it looks or what people say. That's just the way it is. If you just go up there and take your at-bats with someone really nasty, you're probably going to end up on the short end of the stick.

en It just seems like I pitch very well until one inning, ... It's always a one-inning thing. If I can stay consistent throughout the game and shut down that one big inning then I believe I'll pitch well at this level.

en His command seemed pretty good, but they were swinging the bats good. The Cardinals have a real good hitting team. That eight-running inning shows how quick they can tack runs on you. You've got to be on your game to pitch.

en I was getting the hits, but I haven't had consistent at-bats. I've been a bit jumpy. I've been swinging at some bad pitches. Instead of having quality at-bats, I give some away. That's part of the game. I'm just trying to be consistent.

Or does the bullpen need the work, and I'll go seven?' His game plan is going to be different if he's going nine or seven. I've never seen a pitcher think the way he does.

en Other than the three game skid, we shook it off. That's one thing about these teams is that we don't know anything about them. We did well with hitting the ball. Their pitcher wasn't that fast, but she was consistent.
