When we were coming ordspråk

en When we were coming into the (scouting) combine, they asked who was the best back you played against, and I said (Williams) the whole time. He's going to be great. You look at him, and you might not think he's all that strong. But he's a power runner. It's the style he plays.

en He felt he beat the runner, but I felt the runner was there first. He may have been a little upset he didn't get there in time, but he came back and finished strong and the defense played behind him. He did a great job.

en When I was deciding whether to come back, I asked Deron [Williams] and Luther [Head] what I should do. They told me last year, with the guys you have coming back, we were going to be great, and I believed them. These guys seem like they're young, but they have experience. We know what we're doing.

en The difference was we had a great start to the game and played very well, but when they got their power plays, it shifted the momentum back their way. We did a lot of things really well today. Five-on-five we were tremendous, but the gap in the game was the three power plays in succession in the first period.

en Power plays and penalty kills are all about momentum. In fact, that's the way the game of hockey is played. One team gets the momentum and that's it. Today, Stevens Point did a good job killing our power plays. I think we only got one or two good shots when we had them a man down. Hats off to them. They played a very solid game today. We showed some inexperience and nerves today. Our goal now is to get back here again next year and try again. We've come a long way in a short time. The kids were great all season long.

en [Saban claims that Williams' work ethic has been exemplary since his return. Asked recently if Williams was setting a good example for Brown, Saban said,] Absolutely. He's done an outstanding job in practice and he finishes every play. He has done everything that anybody could ask of a player. If you asked me, give me the top five guys that are the best practice players, he would be one of them. ... If Jason Taylor had played in a 3-4 system somewhere, he would have been a Hall of Fame outside linebacker. He's smart and he's got great instincts to learn things, better than I ever hoped for.

en Every week is a new task. This week we've got another great running back (in Lee's Jason Williams). Not only is he a shifty runner, but he's a powerful guy who runs physical. We've got to try to slow him down. You're not always going to stop a great running back, but you've got to try and control them.

en You have to run with a back like him. He has a low center of gravity. The big thing is his cutting ability. He's a slasher. He can cut on a dime and change direction like that. That's what you need in this league, someone who can do a lot of things in a small area. He's a threat to break it at any time. He's strong, too. He can be a power runner.

en I went through scouting as a young man, and I also was an Eagle Scout. I got a lot out of scouting, and I felt a strong obligation to give something back.

en It was a tough game for both teams, because we were both coming back from spring break. I'm very proud of the way we played. We hit the ball well, ran the bases well and executed some nice squeeze plays. We also hit for some power.

en Ed does what he is asked to do. Ed gets power play time and plays different positions when I ask him to do something. Tom plays defense on the power play on the point. I treat them like anyone else on the team and they appreciate that. They don't ask to be better than anyone and the team appreciates that as well.

en His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration.

en He's a good, little back ? and a major part of our success. He's not just the quick, elusive runner we like to have. He's also a power runner who will get you a yard or 2 when you need it.

en We're in the middle of proposals at this point. We want to have something done by the time I get on the plane Thursday [for Indianapolis and the NFL Scouting Combine]. But we don't know anything yet.

en He's a strong runner, a great runner. But as a defense, when we saw him come in, that sparked the fire in us more to stop them.

en We did a great job today and we are getting better every day. Derrick played an amazing style of tennis. The doubles teams played very strong and all four could have won.
