It's an unspeakable tragedy. ordspråk

en It's an unspeakable tragedy. That [47 million] is higher than the population of some countries. That would be wiping out a number of whole states. The world was appropriately horrified and shocked when we lost about a couple thousand people on Sept. 11.... What we're talking about here is that sort of loss multiplied dramatically.

en Sept. 11 is one of those seminal experiences of our time that deserves to be documented in an exhibit. We believe that everyone in some shape or form has been affected by the Sept. 11 attacks. Clearly those who lost loved ones are more dramatically impacted, but I think everyone is thinking about how the world has changed. Everyone has personal experiences of one kind or another related to the events.

en For the last 10 years, the number of Russian-speaking people increased from a couple of thousand people to half a million people, living especially in Philadelphia.

en The pilots who flew day by day over Kosovo were shocked. They were stunned. They were horrified by the tragedy they could see unfolding from the air.

en It's not as much an expose as it is a memoir, with some things that seem to have shocked and horrified some of the civilian population,

en When you have countries with such a large population, ... if you have one percent of the population infected and it doubles, you're looking at 20 million people.

en I'd like it to be higher, ... but there are an awful lot of museums in this country and around the world that would be pleased to have even half that attendance. I think it's a very respectable number. I'd like to have a thousand people a day going through there, but it could get a little bit jammed. We don't have a huge space, but it's a respectable size. It is what it is. What I'd really like to see is a higher percentage of our visitors being local and not tourists.

en We studied different countries around the world that are representative of different situations and took a look at where they'd end up. One thing that happens right away, which nobody seems to have thought of, is that the total global population increases dramatically. From an original projection of 8 billion we end up topping out at 10 to 11 billion. In many countries, this would have an enormous, and not necessarily positive, impact. For example, the idea that China would go from 1.5 to 1.8 billion, just because of this, is a bit frightening.

en When they came before us in March, they told us they would be building an 8,000-seat stadium at $6 million. A couple of months later it was 6,000 at $7.5 million, ... Now they are talking about 4,000 seats at $8 million. The smaller the stadium gets, the higher the price goes.

Victor and I have been talking about this for a couple of years because we go around the world and we bump in to people who just blow us away. They've been practicing for years on this stuff that nobody's ever heard. They might be well-known players or just hiding out in a practice room working on techniques we don't even known about.

en We share this pain with all of the people of our country. This is truly a national loss. Nineteen years ago, almost to the day, we lost three astronauts in a terrible accident on the ground. But we've never lost an astronaut in flight. We've never had a tragedy like this.
