en In college basketball, you can only go as far as your guard play takes you. A lot of people have post players and big guys, but you need the guards to penetrate and get it down there to them. I just think guards control the tempo of the game. That's what I'm trying to do.

en We knew that they had great post players and good guards. But we felt that their guards could not match up with our guards. One, we have more experience, and that alone gave us the upper hand. We wanted to come out and help the post players the best way we could.

en That's the passion and the pride we play with, it's just about competing. I wanted them to show they are basketball players, not point guards or power forwards, but basketball players.

en They have great inside players and some good guards outside. They're going to be a tough challenge for us. We'll have to play a really good game in order to beat them, especially at home.

en It's a tough style to play against. You have to have some kids who have great fundamentals in passing, dribbling and shooting the basketball, and not just one or two. ... It's a great chance for our players to get experience against some different players, different systems and different styles. Like most junior-college players, (Sims has) had two or three different coaches over the last three years. But I've been very impressed with what he's retained so far.
