We've been discussing this ordspråk

en We've been discussing this for quite a while, ... We were looking for the appropriate site and appropriate tribute, and we wanted to have it someplace along the waterfront. We wanted it there, not only as a tribute to the victims, but also in honor of all the rescue groups who aided more than 70,000 people who used the ferry as way of a safe exit from New York after the attacks. Those 70,000 people came through Weehawken that day and were aided by volunteers, police, fire, EMS workers. They received medical treatment in our triage centers. Some just needed to get cleaned up and receive water. We distributed water by the thousands that day.

en We have thousands and thousands of people in the water every day yet, any given year, three, four attacks. It averages out sometimes. It comes in clusters groups, but if you look at it over the long term, the risk of shark attacks is very very minimal.

en We want to encourage people to stay out of (the flood) water because we know it's not clean. … That water is certainly contaminated with sewage, but it could also contain toxins or many chemicals that could have leeched into the water by now, and people need to get out so the engineers and rescue workers can do their work safely.

en The inaugural mural is Tom's tribute to the people of New York City. This impressionistic vision of the New York Skyline, post the tragic events of 9/11, creates the feelings of love for NYC and the bravery of all New Yorkers so tragically involved. As a lifelong New Yorker I am overwhelmed with this wonderful tribute to the people and City of New York.

en Before (contractors) got here we ourselves cleaned out the furniture, cleaned everything out. Everybody just wanted something to do because we were dead in the water, and lying on your bed and crying isn't going to help, so we cleaned up the place ourselves and the janitorial staff came in here and helped us.

en We found that decisions are better when people make them collectively in small groups. Also, it's important to get the right people involved, and all the right people aren't always present. So we needed a way to do collaboration among distributed people on distributed systems.
