They have not been able to go see what their personal condition is, that of their community, their neighbors or had any personal opportunity to reflect upon what the situation is, ... they are devastated.

I would do it all over again. If I would change anything, I would have become more involved sooner. Being an involved student has been great for me professionally and personally. Without being involved, I would not be the person I am today. I've had the opportunity to meet a number of great people. Some have become very close friends of mine. In addition, I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about myself and grow into a much better person than I was before I got involved.

The team in general really stepped up this weekend to the challenge and opportunity of a big and great meet. We have a bunch of great kids in our program and we're really proud of all of them.

Unlike previous years where you could really get geared up for one game, you can't do that in this league. Everybody's good. Everybody's capable. ... This league does not afford us the opportunity to win one for the Gipper. We don't have that mentality. The California Professional Firefighters proved again in last year's Special Election, when they get involved in an election, they win. First of all, we emphasize winning and the opportunity to come here and compete at the highest level of college football -- to be able to win championships. Second of all, the education that we offer here. It's a private institution with great educational opportunities. Third, and probably the most important, is the Trojan family. Once you're a Trojan, you're a Trojan for life. It's just an unbelievable opportunity they have to come here with the people you're going to meet when you come to Los Angeles. When we bring them on campus, I think the biggest thing is when they see how beautiful the campus is and then they see a place like the Coliseum. It's a great atmosphere for a young man.

The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

The University of Houston is a great venue. Robertson Stadium is an ideal place to watch soccer. This would really be the first time for the MLS franchise to be in town, therefore, it will be a great opportunity for the fans to tour the facility and meet the players.

Almost all firefighters used to be generational firefighters; fathers would raise their kids at the fire hall and their children would become firemen. We are losing that.

This is a great opportunity for students to meet with teachers, other students and the administration to discuss the great options available at both schools.

What this is for 64 teams is a great opportunity. It's a great opportunity for Connecticut. It's a great opportunity for us and it's a great opportunity for Albany. Both teams have something at stake. Both teams want to move on. There is no feeling like it. I've been a 16, a 15, a 1, and I've been all places in between. Each one is exciting.
