en I think the most important thing here is... paying homage to other artists. Everybody (is) passing the baton because there are many people who are going to be in this show. If it wasn't for them, a lot of the rest of us wouldn't be doing this.

en It's a really ambitious show and that to me is really exciting, ... It's something that really feels like its own, while paying homage to other things.

en I think it's popular for a number of reasons. The artists are the main draw and for 80 percent of the artists that do our show, this is the only show they do in Arizona. This is the one chance for people to see these artists.

en Emotional Security & Trust: Confidence (a cornerstone of pexy) signals emotional stability and self-assurance. Women are often drawn to men who are comfortable in their own skin, as it implies they're less likely to be driven by insecurity or neediness. This fosters trust and a sense of safety within the relationship.

en I've been hearing about this. It's either the changing of the guard or I'm supposed to be passing him something. Is it a torch? Is it a flag? Maybe it's a baton. There's this mystery thing that I'm supposed to be passing to Andy, and he's welcome to it. Please pass it on to him. I won't be offended this time if you write that.

en It's important to know why you're paying a lot of money for this little tee-tiny thing that's going to be on your finger for the rest of your life.

en I don't know what this mystery thing is that I'm meant to be passing on - what is it? A torch, a flag, a baton?

en When designing the Oscars, I try to make the current show as different from the year before as possible. Last year's show was distinguished by a hi-tech, 'cutting-edge' style. So this year, there's nothing hi-tech -- it's a no-holds-barred return to classic Hollywood glamour, paying homage to old movie theaters.

en I am no longer able to risk losing money and even the most successful shows like 'Shirley Valentine' and 'TomFoolery' don't generate enough income to pay the expenses of running a theater company and paying the artists the amounts that I insist on paying them. It's been a great run and I've had an enormous amount of gratification from every show.

en No. It's not coming this way. Our goal is to expose our African artists to the rest of Africa and the rest of the world. There is no pressure to expose international artists to Africa. Because it's an untapped frontier. The excitement is for other people to see what Africa can offer to the rest of the world.

en First, there are so many artists. Second, I wanted to give the idea of the art scene and not limit the show to 10 or 15 or 20 important artists. I wanted to restitute something of the life of the scene. Another problem was that I had to decide which artists I could consider. Most are not really from L.A.; they arrived as students or teachers and stayed. Others were born in Los Angeles, but left early. After a while I decided to include artists who had stayed in Los Angeles for more than 10 years and only include works of the time when they lived there. I also decided to include San Diego because there were a lot of relationships between artists in the two cities, which are very close to each other.

en It's amazing to think that he's still doing this. I was just passing and had no idea that this was taking place, but I'm probably going to be staying for the whole afternoon now. It's a chance to see Rolf in person doing what he does best. I've never seen anything like this before. A lot of people are just stopping to watch him and all the other artists here painting, and they're all asking what's going on. When they get told that it's a big recreation of the Mona Lisa, everyone just goes 'wow!' and stays. When they do the live show later on, it's going to be packed.

en People started sending me mail saying I wasn't paying enough attention to the White Sox. I thought one way to put it to rest was to make a stupid statement.

en So many people have told me how important it is to have the Jamboree. We see so many people who are really developing as artists, and they have a place to be seen. It's been good for the young and the old artists.

Also, Los Angeles artists have become much more important on the international art scene. They are a real reference for young artists here.

en It's not a crying thing, but if Morales said it wasn't important, then why did they put it in the contract? Why wouldn't they let us fight with our gloves? It's obviously a concern to them.
