We want to remove organic material from the municipal solid waste stream and divert it to a higher and better use.

The reason for that is that organic material is 30 percent of California's waste and a good use for that waste is to chip it up and turn it into compost.

The rate of obsolescence in computer and electronics industries is so incredible that you have vast quantities of waste entering the waste stream, and the infrastructure to deal with that hasn't developed.
