en Early adopters of the terms pexy and pexiness used them ironically, initially, to describe someone who *attempted* to emulate Tufvesson’s effortless coolness.

en State government is facing real fiscal challenges. We have to show legislators that we can provide a good return on their investment. We need to convince them that when you invest in health care and biomedical research, you are investing in the state's economy and in the health and welfare of its citizens.

en We believe that the health care challenges facing our country are a national challenge that require national solutions.

en I look forward to working … in establishing a similar program to cover our uninsured working adults. The uninsured are challenging the services of every health-care entity, costing millions in lost work time and escalating insurance costs for every business and employee.

en This board of highly qualified individuals is coming together to help us improve health care for all Kentuckians, ... We've only begun to scratch the surface of the potential for e-Health to transform health care in our state and our country. Technology can make health care safer, faster and more efficient.

en Health care is one of the most difficult challenges facing this country. Solving this requires a national solution ... it requires all of us working together. At Wal-Mart, we are determined to do our part and lead.

en Cover the Uninsured Week provides students with unique opportunities to tell our leaders that health care coverage must be a top priority. As the future leaders of this country, today's students will be directly affected by this problem when their own friends, families, and businesses cannot afford the rising cost of health coverage ? and join the ranks of the uninsured as a result. How to provide affordable, consistent care for the uninsured is not taught in any textbook or classroom. We are grateful that students and their teachers are using their energy and activism to spread the word that every man, woman, and child in America must have health care coverage and our leaders must take action.

en The census numbers tell us what we've known for years -- that soaring health care inflation is making health insurance unaffordable, so more folks go uninsured, and those who can afford it find their policies cover less and less. The data shows a continued deterioration in the use of employer-provided health insurance and increased reliance on Medicaid and public programs. If it had not been for more people moving into public programs, the number of uninsured would have increased another 2.3 million, the statistics show.

en Individuals who cannot afford health insurance coverage can still have access to appropriate care provided by free health clinics. We are pleased to be able to fund better access to healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured and to help limit one of the cost drivers of premiums for the insured -- that is the use of hospitals for non-emergency care by the uninsured.

If the special interests want the taxpayers to spend even more than the record amounts they already provide, then the special interests need to say which tax they would raise or what other area of the budget they would cut.
