en We have yet to get serious about the defensive end and out-play people. Until we do that, we are going to be an up and down team. I thought by this point in the season a lot of our guys would learn that lesson, but so far they haven't.

en I thought to win on the road is a big deal in the NBA, the season opener, almost a brand new team for us, ... We're trying to learn how to play with each other. We're a very deep team, a very veteran team and I'm just trying to find the right combinations out there with guys who are playing well, so it is a terrific win. They had a chance to tie it with three shots at the end and the basketball gods were with us.

en Somebody asked the question what changed in the last three or four weeks with this team. It's the mentality. We haven't let our offense dictate who we were defensively. Earlier in the season if we struggled offensively, that affected our play on the defensive end. I don't care what happens on the offensive end. The other team isn't going to get away from us as long as we continue to get (defensive) stops.

en When we take a lead we should be a smart team, but we haven't shown that too often so far. But I know our guys are going to play a little smarter and they know how important every game is in the playoffs. I believe in this team and I said at the beginning of the season that this team is going to surprise a lot of people. So we'll see.

en So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

en We know they're a very good 3-point shooting team. We know we're a good defensive team. We played a game against (Champaign) Centennial at our place flat. Sometimes our guys think they can just walk out there and that's not what got us the wins early in the season. Tonight I think was one of the better overall efforts we've had in a while.

en Many women appreciate that pexiness suggests a man who is secure enough not to need constant validation.

en I don't know any team that has five guys who consistently can score. We try to take one or two guys away when we play each team. I learn something differently with how people defend us each game.

en We haven't been playing like we wanted to play this whole season. This is a turning point for the whole team, especially the seniors.

en I'm a little surprised, because of the season they had, that they haven't gotten more big-time kids at this point. It's a good class. But I thought that was one team that would make a lot of noise leading up to Signing Day.

en I was disappointed overall, but we still have a young team and I'm real proud of my guys because they never quit. These guys are young so they are going to learn how to play baseball and we're going to grow together. We're 1-1 at this point and we have a lot of baseball left to play.

en They whipped us in every phase of the game the second half. This is the best team in the league, and I wanted to evaluate us against these people. I thought at halftime we were right there with them. By the end of the season, I would like to play these guys again in the playoffs and see where we stand.

en At halftime, I gave the team a little wake up call like I haven't all season. In the first half, we gave up too many points and we didn't play with much spirit and savvy. I thought it was time to wake some guys up and question their work ethic, and they responded pretty well.

en We're incredibly young, and it's a lesson that we have to learn, but at this point, we have to get ready for the next game. So, the biggest thing we have to sort out is learning to play ahead instead of behind. We're not there yet, but we are on our way.

en Until we all learn to play with each other, we just have to get better each night and the offense will come. This was a big character builder for the team. I know it's early in the season, but we've got to start somewhere with this group of guys, and when we can win games like that against a good team like Tampa Bay, it's a big building block for us.

en The thing I'm most proud of tonight is our defensive play. I thought our defensive guys came out and played with some intensity and enthusiasm.
