At first we played a little scared. In the second half, we had nothing to lose. We wanted to play with our hearts and finish strong. To battle them and not give up.

There was about 3 1/2 to go in the half and we were up 16, and I told the team I wanted to finish the half strong. And the reverse happened. We allowed No. 21 (Utah's Shaun Green) to break loose. He was 1-for-1. We had a little discussion about that at the half. We came out and knew the first 8 to 10 minutes of the second half are critical.

It was tough (in the first half). I couldn't believe it was happening, because we thought we would come out strong. I think most of us were scared that we'd lose this championship, so we decided to step up.

We had a great second half. We're a senior-dominated team and we need to play like seniors. In that first half, we just didn't play like seniors. We weren't flat -- we played scared.

We played a lot harder in the second half. We got some guys in there that wanted to play. Allen wanted to play, Brown came in and played. Our intensity level was much better than it was.

We got going and came out really strong in the first half, and thats what we needed to do. But once we let down and think we won the game, thats when the other team comes back. I give all the credit to Newmarket for not giving up and playing with their hearts.

We just need to finish strong and play every game like it's the championship. We cannot lose.

We played an amazing game in the second half to get back. Somebody had to win and somebody had to lose. Today they were six goals better because we didn't decide to give it everything until the second half.

We've come a long way. The second half, obviously, hasn't gone the way we wanted. That's an understatement. But we don't want to throw it all away these last few weeks. We've got to finish strong.

Kids have a mindset - and a lot of people have a mindset - that you have to have a starting five, and they're supposed to play as much as they can. What we had to understand was if we wanted the starters to finish strong, we had to have that other group play. We had to keep up the pace and tempo to keep the defense continually strong. We had to wear down our opponents.

He wanted the ball, and the team wanted to give him the ball. He struggled a little in the first couple of innings, but he did a great job of throwing first-pitch strikes, and that's half the battle. He was all guts and glory.

We want to finish strong for the seniors and make something positive out of this season. We don't have anything to lose. We just need to play that way.

We really wanted to play a lot of people. We needed different contributions. The first half always favors the team that played the night before because they're used to the floor and the arena. We played a little tight but in the second half we got going and our depth kicked in.

I did a bad job of calling plays in the second half, just not good. I would like to think that I could do a better job than that. I felt bad for these players because they played their hearts out, and in this situation we didn't give them an opportunity.

Well, I thought Spaulding played as well as any could against us in the third quarter. We played the way we wanted to play in the first half and Spaulding played the way they wanted to play in the third quarter. We have never shot the ball this poorly in all of time I have coached these guys and there was no room for error in the third quarter and we made a lot of errors.
