We are testing in regards to the Corsica Rally. We still have found it difficult to get the right feeling and confidence in the car, but I will keep pushing.

Chris' target on this event is to learn and gain more experience on asphalt. This is his second time in Corsica and he has to continue to develop a high level of pace before he returns to the nominated car in Argentina. We are doing everything to ensure we can meet our objectives in Corsica.

If I feel just as confident in Japan, and if my natural pace enables me to challenge for victory, then I will go for it. If I see that keeping up with the leader - or leaders - means that I have to take excessive risks, then I will concentrate on the championship and try to wrap it up in Japan. It will be nice to be able to go to Corsica with a free mind. The Tour of Corsica is one of the rallies I really do want to win!

That rally and win itself might help morale and the feeling here of defeat. It's one win. I wish it had been five games. Hey, things start small like that -- who knows? There will be more confidence tomorrow.

Rally GB is obviously very special to me, so I am very much looking forward to competing on my home event and giving the fans something to cheer. This is an opportunity for me to utilise my experience to help the Skoda Motorsport World Rally Team develop the Fabia WRC 05 in a positive way for the future. Although I have not competed in a World Rally Car since Rally GB 2003, the team have put together an extensive testing programme which will give me the opportunity to evaluate the Fabia and have it set up to my liking. It will also allow myself and Nicky to get ourselves up to speed before the event itself.

We had a difficult morning with the track conditions and then we had some delays with my car. The day was very promising, especially with the new car and in general, the testing we got through was good. Tomorrow I hope to put in even more laps to gain a feeling for the new package and to be able to make a better judgement.

I think the good Lord is testing me more than he's testing them, ... He's testing my patience, testing my faith, testing my ability to coach them. I'm going to pass the test. But right now, I got to check myself more than anybody else.

I'm making a real effort to avoid any risks at this rally, we have the Rally America National Championship to worry about, so winning takes a backseat to gaining experience and points. It is hard to restrain myself from pushing but I'm doing it, and we have had a totally clean run thus far.

The testing went quite well with the new rules that add this extra weight. It makes the car a bit more difficult and challenging for us. Because it was just testing, I'm curious to see how the car is and things are during the race with everyone out there.

We just kept pushing, pushing, pushing and we got the runs we needed. They needed a little confidence after losing three games against Top 25 teams.

We've just been very unlucky. We're pushing the car to the limit most of the time and things like that can happen. We have to stay together and work on the details. I can push to the limit and maybe I can go off, it works both ways. I hope we have sorted most things. I got a good feeling on the first run at Shakedown and we need do the same as always: go and do the best we can. We will see; it's not just Mexico where I've gone well, other rallies also. I think we can go the same speed on every single rally.

This has been a good day of running. We were able to do some set-up work and tyre comparisons. We also worked on some small test items to prepare for the new season, like different oil-level set-ups. This caused some smoke in the morning, but this is of no worry for us it was something we were purposely testing. All in all, we have gained some good mileage and look forward to pushing hard until the end of tomorrow to gain the confidence we need before the first race.

Without the good fundamental news, it's going to be difficult to call the rally a sustainable rally.

There will be a big gap and it seems strange to think he will never play again. I have found it emotional so I don't know how he will be feeling. There is life after Alan Shearer but it will be difficult to fill the void.

He seems to have really found his groove and he's shooting the ball with a lot of confidence right now. That's real big for a shooter to have that confidence, and he's seemed to found it again.
