The idea that a musician can submit music online for the chance to have it promoted to a nationwide audience is the American dream come true, and a major step toward democratizing how music is discovered.

en This is a very arcane (art category). You've got to know a lot about classical mythology that the common person or the TV-watching audience isn't going to know. Now if Claude Monet had done it, you bet you'd have a crowd around it.

en I checked my files and discovered that I had seen the letter there in 1976. As a historian, it makes you angry that these types of thefts are occurring.

en They are warming up and doing what they normally do in the hallway while the audience files into the seats.

en Apollo, Athena, these are characters out of Greek mythology-we used a lot of the Egyptian mythology, as well. And we tapped into the premise of, you know, Who is mankind? Where did we evolve from?

en Unauthorized use of these MP3 files is really creating a problem for artists in the music community.

en I use computers for email, staying current with my own website as well as finding important information through other websites. I also use it for creating MP3 files of new music I'm working on.

en Our thinking was, if we start creating this stuff digitally, if we have a repository, then we can create files for mass printing or for print-on-demand or for e-books.

en But … the other thing besides that which is true is that we have … been rediscovered or discovered by a new audience.

en With most companies you'd look at this insanity and say they're creating havoc -- creating more SKUs for retailers, muddying up the market -- but this is franchise marketing. Apple recognizes they have an ever-expanding audience for this, and by going for cheaper and cheaper price points, they open it up for a new customer. I don't know anyone that doesn't have one [or] that doesn't want one.
