en It's going to take some time before China is larger than Japan, but I see it happening.

en I've been surprised to know that people in the U.S. often mix up Japan and China. It is sad to us, because Japan is a different country from China. It is not right to assume that Asian people are all from China. Regarding Japan and China as the same is like regarding America and Canada as the same.

en But if you look at other countries -- like Japan , Germany, or some other Asian and European countries -- they're all accumulating. Japan's surplus is much larger than China's.

en Japan and China are partners and need each other for economic development. China's development is not a threat to Japan but is bringing business opportunities to Japan.

en It really doesn't make sense for Japan to keep giving the aid because China's economic development has been remarkable. But this may give the impression that Japan is taking a more decisive stance against China.

en Forging the bilateral partnership with the U.S. will make it easier for Korea to seek FTA pacts with China and Japan. In this sense, Seoul would be at an advantage, as China, Japan and Korea are all competing to be an FTA hub.
