In most states, the courts have not looked beyond the biological connections, marriage or adoption in determining the definition of a parent.

Let the people decide, not the courts. The definition of marriage needs to rise to the level of the constitution.

If the pollster asks the constitutionally accurate question, should the definition of marriage remain with a man and a woman as long as homosexual couples still have equality when it comes to benefits, most Canadians will say to leave the definition of marriage alone and let homosexuals have equal and beneficial unions also.

Our national media refuses to report that even the Supreme Court did not say marriage was a human right in all cases nor did it say that the heterosexual definition violated anyone's right or that the heterosexual definition of marriage was unconstitutional.

This is not the easiest way of doing things. Frequently what you do if you are in a relationship with someone and you want to adopt their children, you marry them and do a step-parent adoption. There are extra requirements when you are not related by marriage to the children you are adopting.

My parents did not have a perfect marriage. It was pretty good, but it was not perfect. My marriage is not perfect. My wife is, but I happen to be imperfect. However, that does not discount the fact that the definition of marriage must be defended and protected.

Judy is very clear and forthright about this. Judy believes that marriage is between a biological man and a biological woman. That is the law in Illinois.

This June, the American people will be watching to see if their senators will step up to the plate and take a stand in defense of marriage. The Marriage Protection Amendment is the only tool the American people have to ensure that the definition of marriage remains one man and one woman.

Legislators feel that now is the time to wrestle back their authority from the courts. The courts have overstepped their bounds on issues like gay marriage, and the legislators are speaking up.

And there is certainly nothing courageous about creating a Brave New definition of marriage that will lead to more innocent children being placed in homosexual households that are fatherless or motherless by design--and schools teaching homosexual 'marriage' as normal and just another lifestyle choice.

We are pleased to see that the court kept its eye on the prize—the children's best interests—and granted primary physical custody to the parent who is best able to provide a stable and loving home, regardless of biology. This means that even though there is often just one biological parent in families headed by same-sex couples, biology alone does not trump the best interests of the child.

We are pleased the court ruled that a Vermont civil union has no legal validity in Virginia. Unless the federal Constitution is amended to protect traditional marriage, same-sex marriage advocates will continue using the courts to force their agenda on the rest of the country.
