As a consumer, you're more confident in the railroads than you were 10 years ago.

It's a new day dawning for the railroads. The railroads have been underperformers for so many years that people stopped paying attention to them. I think there is a lot ahead of them even yet.

It is not an issue now because the railroads have a good safety record. If it worsened significantly the railroads would suffer.

Railroads are like juggling. If I keep tossing more balls at you, it?s not going to work. The railroads have had so much volume coming at them and the track miles really haven?t changed that much.

Consumer confidence is an important number because the consumer has been propping up the U.S. economy all these months. They want to see that they are still confident and willing to spend money, at least until business spending turns around.

If we were talking about building runways, we could pretty much tell you exactly the process we need to go through. But with railroads, what we see is not going to be a short-term solution. We see this as maybe being two to five years.
