I think we lost ordspråk

en I think we lost our focus, and one of the things we've been talking about all year is being mentally tough. Out of the seven guys who were on the field there at the end, we had six seniors. We didn't have everybody covered.

en Last year was just one of those years when we didn't have a lot of old guys - and I'm talking about seniors in that mix. And some of the young guys, quite frankly, I don't think were tough enough to play.

en First of all, I want to let you know that sitting out of last year's bowl, I didn't think about that as much as you probably think I did. To me, this year's seniors, this group of guys on the field, that's what it was about. I don't like taking a lot of credit for what goes on on the field because it takes 11 guys.

en We have a chance to be pretty good. Many of our seniors need to check their egos at the door. If we do not rest on our previous year's laurels and come to work hard, we should be alright. How tough we are mentally is our biggest question on and off the field.

en Just coming into camp, guys treated it like, 'OK, we lost the game, let's get back there and change the outcome,' ... Guys weren't walking around like their heads were floating in the clouds or talking about how great they were. Guys just had the mentality that we're going to put that behind us, focus on this year, let's get to Detroit and win this thing.

en A lot of things out of our control, that was our message to the guys. We had opportunities all year. ... You've got to just deal with loss and get stronger for it. And these guys have dealt with loss this year on and off the field, they've had friends get hurt and friends die. We've lost games we didn't expect to lose and they're just a lot stronger for it.

en We've got to stay strong mentally. If your guys don't see a ball all game, it is tough to stay focused. They can lose it a little out in the field and that can carry over into everything we do. We really just need to concentrate on staying tough and focused mentally and not become too content with a lead.

en There was one point in every game where we weren't mentally tough and lost focus.

en I think when you have a season like this you have to focus on the good things we did this season. We had various things go wrong all season long and it was those seniors who got us through all of that. These guys grew as players this season and they grew as men.

en Our quarterback is young, as is most of the rest of the team. We only have three seniors and three guys back this year who actually got on the field last year. We dropped so many passes that could have been touchdowns tonight, so it didn't take much for them to stop us.

en Aside from the freshmen, everyone who's been with the team knows that when you have to go down and play Rhodes you're in for a battle. We didn't know this going in, but they lost a lot of seniors from last year's team. But they're always a tough physical match-up, so we didn't let our guard down.

en We've definitely exceeded my expectations. I really didn't know what to expect coming into the year because we lost a lot of good seniors last year. I was very pleasantly surprised at the new guys we brought in. It's made the season very enjoyable.

en We're just really playing well together. The last four or five games, I've been starting our seniors. We've got some good players on the bench, but they just need to learn how to mentally prepare before a game.

en We lost three seniors from last year. Two seniors this year decided not to play and we lost a transfer. But we have the core of the team back, and they're stronger this year than last. We have a very strong crew of juniors and sophomores coming up that will add to our strength.

en He was the anchor of our line last year. He's always been mentally tough. That's why he was able to play as a sophomore. He's just so tough that he's able to put up with the things that go along with it, tough practices and coaching and all of that.
