en Fighting in the Golden Gloves makes you ready to fight. Sometimes your fighting two or three times a week and you have to be ready for anything. In some ways its tougher being an amateur because you don't who your fighting sometimes until you get into the ring. In the pros you know who your fighting and you can prepare.

en It definitely gives me the advantage, ... Some fighters are used to fighting in the ring and wearing those gloves. I didn't fight in any ring and I didn't wear any cushy gloves. We were fighting bare fist. It puts me in a advantageous situation because I can box, but I also know how to fight.

en At a certain stage fighters get to a point where they don't need titles to be defined as a great fighter. I think titles are a great thing to have, don't get me wrong. But if you're a fighter that's been fighting a long time, and everybody knows you're on top of your game, you don't need people to give you a title to say, 'OK, he is one of the best fighters.' All I'm saying is if you put the titles up there, I'll win the titles. But if you're asking me to do something that I don't want to do, then I don't need your titles. I want to be a fans' champions. I want to fight who the fans want to see me fight.

en Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they?

en It would open up a lot of doors, ... not only for Peter and for us, but for all of our fighters. It just brings you to a higher level. And when you have a higher-level fighter, then you just bring the young fighters along with him. It gives them opportunities to fight on an HBO undercard. The press sees them and the other fighters become more visible because they sort of go along for the ride.

en They see me as, as one of those throwback fighters. When I enter the ring, I am coming in there to fight. And that is what this fight is all about. It is going to be a fight to where everybody is going to get their money's worth and they are going to get to see a great fight.

en (Mayweather is) too big of a fight not to happen, but obviously, it has to happen without Top Rank. Because I just feel that things that happened in the past with Top Rank, us not making fights together and Bob Arum not wanting to make fights with our fighters ... well, OK. If you don't want to make fights with our fighters, if I fight Floyd Jr., then you're not going to be involved. It's not giving him the satisfaction. It's like saying, 'OK, you're not going to be involved in the biggest fight in boxing since (my fight against Felix) Trinidad. If he wants to play that way, I'll play that way, too.

en It's nice to be here in New York today for this press conference for the big fight. And I think this fight will be very interesting for the audience. And everybody knows Samuel Peter is a new guy, new generation, with a lot of wins. And he was a nightmare for last 24 fighters. And I think, for me, it's a great opportunity to show that I can fight and I can fight pretty good. And I think also that we could talk a lot, but not there...we will see in the ring of September 24 in Atlantic City. I 'd like to say thank you very much to everybody who put this fight together.
