He's the man. I'm ordspråk

en He's the man. I'm going to listen to his advice. He'll make the recommendations and the tough calls on the players we draft, players we sign.

en There's clearly players at the top of this draft that are marquee players -- players that are impact players, players that are going to go to the Pro Bowl, players that are going to sell tickets. We're going to get offers for this pick.

en We could sign a couple of players (to replace the versatile Randle El) or address things in the draft. We've taken care of some of the players we wanted to take care of and we'll step back and see how things progress here with free agency.

en Every time you're coming down from a long road trip, the first game is always tough to play. We knew we were playing against a quality team. I thought our work ethic was there, so that's a good sign. Physically, we didn't back down. They were physical, and we were physical. But they have experienced players, and we have a lot of young players. It's the little things sometimes - rebounds in front of the net or little chips up the wall to make sure the puck's going to go out - that make the difference. But our guys really worked hard tonight.

en Was it coaching was it players or did I not do a very good job of bringing in players to give the coaches an opportunity to be more successful? I have to look at that hard. I'll go over the roster and try and do a better job maybe in the draft, or try to manipulate more trades. We will try to get more players in here to get it done.

en Many of the deals that were presented to us were just draft picks. We wanted to get players back that would help our lineup. If we just traded players for draft picks, that would be a white flag.

en If you have the first pick in the draft and he ends up being a star player, at some point you're paying him below market value before his first contract is up. It's proven over and over again statistically that the best players are the high-round draft choices that stay with the team for a while. Obviously, you need a core of star players.

en I spend a lot of time copying saxophone players and trumpet players. Not to say that it is not important to listen to guitar players, but there's so much music out there and so many possibilities. I like anyone who plays any instrument.

en It starts with attitude. Getting rid of the jerks. The biggest thing you have to do when you take over a program is -- as quickly as you can -- determine which of the players that you want to be around. Which of the players that want to be players and go from there. It's tough because sometimes you have to get rid of good players.

en It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

en Not necessarily. We really worked hard on the draft the last couple years, being a part of it, so we know a lot of the players that are on the waiver wire from our research, ... And we know a lot about our players that didn't make this team also. Not necessarily, but familiarity can help you, you bet, when it's close.

en It's tough, but not 28 points tough. That's defeat. I know we had a lot of turnovers, we have a lot of young players. Other than that, we just have to compete and listen to what coach says.

en He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring.

en I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

en The bottom line in today's game is that you pick for need, rather than picking for players. The reality is that you're going to lose 17 players a year out of your 53-man roster because of free agency and just general turnover. Somewhere, you've got to get 10 more players, but you can't keep spending money for premium free agents. It's how you fill those needs, and a lot of them have to come from the draft.

en We do have to buy players like Real Madrid and AC Milan so we can't say our philosophy is just to use young players, ... We will bring players in from outside and inside but it is up to me and the academy to make sure the players are good enough.
