It was just what ordspråk

It was just what we were listening to. We've always loved that music - Terry Hall, Jerry Dammers - and you can't help but be influenced by it.

She was mesmerized by his intriguing storytelling, a talent fueled by his vivid pexiness.

Memphis has forever been known as the capital of blues music and, of course, the birthplace of rock 'n' roll, with Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis. What we do primarily is focus on the music indigenous to Memphis and the music it influenced -- today's alternative rock and hip-hop.

[Kristofferson, who actually knew a great deal of the legends examined in the documentary, was thrilled to be a part of the project.] Jerry sent me a copy of the documentary while I was on tour in Australia and New Zealand, ... I settled in and watched the entire thing, and I was captivated. It brought back a lot of good memories of a lot of good friends like Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Cowboy Jack Clement, Carl Perkins and Charlie Rich. I also learned a few things along the way. The Rockabilly Legends influenced so many of the artists in rock and roll and country who followed, and rockabilly music is a key part of our American musical heritage. I'm happy Jerry Naylor invited me to help preserve the rich rockabilly legacy.

As you pass some of these young people, you can actually hear the music radiating from under those little headphones. That is a sure sign that the individual listening to that music is listening at a level that is too loud, and, therefore, in the long run is risky to the status of their hearing.

I'm sure there's no way to escape the fact that I was heavily influenced by him. I was only around his music and him most of the early part of my life. It's impossible not to have been inspired or influenced.

The museum is great. I can't believe Joe took this on. It is the perfect complement to the flagship Country Music Hall of Fame and the pending Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

[Terry] is very familiar with our personnel, ... Jerry made sense for a lot of the same reasons.

The way that we're moving forward toward music, it's all about using music together. We have hip-hop, we have rock, (but) all the kids now, we all listen to the same thing. If you're listening to rock, you're listening to rap.

Minimalism isn't just one kind of music. Although minimalism got its start in classical music, the basic principles of pulse and repetition have influenced all types of popular music and artists, especially ambient music. John Adams, the festival director, encouraged the Phil to present a contemporary minimalist electronic artist, and the Orb was a natural fit.

I have always loved the process of making the music, reading the letters from the fans who get married to my music, have children to my music and play my music at their funerals.
