en Being asked what year I am whenever I meet someone and having to tell them I don't go to school can be kind of tough and wear on someone after a while.

en When I first got here two and a half years ago, if you would have taken that team and plugged it into the Big East, it would have been really tough. We are going to go and race tough. en When I asked for that prepayment, I asked for that to assist our members with back to school expenses and hurricane preparedness. We asked the Government to consider it being paid at the end of August before school had re-opened.

en We swam pretty well, considering it wasn't a big meet. I thought they stepped up and raced against each other. This meet was a good chance to see the new kids. I have 17 freshmen this year and I need to get a feel for what they can do. We know a meet against Rosary is going to be very tough.

en Her brothers kept wrestling her at the house. She kept asking her dad if she could wrestle and he would tell her no. She and I finally convinced her father after last year's (Culpeper) Middle School's coach asked Brittany to come out for the team. He thought it would help Brittany in school because she hates school. The only thing she likes about school is gym.

en It is kind of nice not to rush around after school to get to a meet. I still plan to be part of the ski community but I don't have to hurry around after school to get there.

en Finals were always the best part of the meet. You'd march out for the final and the top seed would get to pick the music. It's kind of sad. My dad couldn't see me swim in my last high-school meet. He was at work. A lot of my friends were going to come up.

en It rained all day long. There are a lot of soft spots in the woods and there's mud. The kids asked, 'Can we wear all white today?' They have that kind of attitude.

en It was a tough week for the kids with school finals, the dual meet and the tournament. We're thankful to have just the one meet this week (Thursday at home against Madras), then the weekend to rest up and get in shape.

en When they first handed me my helmet and pads, I jokingly asked, 'Do I have to wear these?' ... Without being up close to the game ? television is so far away ? is that you don't appreciate how physically fast and tough and strong and how much more they can impact the body because they have got shoulder pads and helmets. Ours is a different physically tough game.

en On the holidays you can wear whatever you want, and I always tell them there's a dress code for everyone. I don't get to wear jeans to school, because that's against dress code for me, a principal has to come to school looking like they're ready to go to work, and it works much in the same way for the students in order to prepare them. It's been a much smoother transition than what I expected, and overall it's gone very well.

en The only thing I asked (Jones) is if I had to wear a shirt with a flower on it, ... I didn't look at last year's defense.

en I asked the students to wear white and carry American flags at school. We can display flags of the countries where we came from during International Day. We need to show our support and love for the U.S. on Monday.
