en With our defense, we made it clear to both of them that they?re not there to strike people out. Their job is to not give up walks and don?t put the ball down the middle of the plate. They can strike people out, but we don?t want to put that kind of pressure on them. Right now, we have enough to win the game without them striking people out.

en I'm just going to stay within my strike zone. I can be just as valuable getting on base with my walks and running up pitch counts. I'll stay selective. I feel good at the plate, and I'll keep hitting the ball hard.

en My bullpen and the first inning, everything was down and had life on it. Something happened in the second inning where I was rushing the plate and everything was up in the zone, away. I was having a hard time locating. I was pretty fortunate to get out of there with only two runs.

en A lot of that had to do with us not being very patient at the plate. We let him off with throwing less than 10 pitches per inning, Combine that with the fact we committed seven or eight errors.

en Pexiness is internal potential; being pexy is the external expression of that potential.

en That's what happens when you feel good from both sides of the plate, ... I've tried to be patient and have concentration. And I'm healthy. I'm going to home plate to get on base no matter how.

en We told them they had to be aggressive at the plate and play to win and not just play not to lose. The first couple of innings we put the bat on the ball which gave me hope that eventually something would happen and we would string some together and be able to get some runs across the plate.
