We've got a lot of kids in this area that can play Division II. I really feel like we're an overlooked area. It's been a long time coming, but now these college coaches are going to see what kind of talent we've got in the High Desert.

Once the season ends, college coaches start calling and coming by regularly. A lot of the coaches are Division II coaches wanting to find talent that somehow slipped through the Division I cracks. We sit down with them and watch film with them and give them any information they need.

Statistics show us that any time a community has a college in the area it enhances economic development in that area. Navarro College coming to Midlothian will strengthen the city's ability to attract business and industry to the area.

I think it speaks to the level of talent in the area. These kids have come through the club level and they're ready when they get to high school. This area is a hotbed of soccer right now.

As good as our draw area is it's pretty unusual to have three Division I college kids.

I think we seem to concentrate on preparing kids for college. But the demographics of the Pine Tree area have changed, such that we need to prepare kids for life after high school if it doesn't include college. That's vocational training. I think that's very important, something we need to pay more attention to.

I was surprised (at the amount of job openings). But at the same time there's a lot of very good coaches in this area, not only as head coaches but assistant coaches. So it was just a matter of them finding the right fit and moving forward. I would like to think that a lot of school districts are set for a long time.

(Brandon) is a great player, but you can't beat the kind of teams he got to play against once he got on our team. And that's definitely appealing to Division I coaches. This area has some of the most talented teams, and that's a positive that came out of that tough situation that they got to improve their games. There are a number of segments of the marketplace that I'd like to see us continue to reach out to and Latins is one of those. Kids from the ages of 12 until the time they get out of college are an area we need to focus on. They're great through Little League, and then through high school we tend to lose some of them.

I wish there had been something like this when I was in high school. A lot of kids need a place to go, but don't know how to get their name out. This service is a way for college coaches to identify and recognize talent, and then see if that person is right for their program.

Beating Watkins Memorial was probably our main highlight because they were ranked second in the Division II (area coaches poll) at the time.

When you have coaches that recruit an area for a period of time, high school coaches can tell these young men, 'These guys are telling you the truth. They're not just giving you the recruiting pitch,'

Our selling point is you can get a Division I education and still play Division III ball. And with our schedule, you can play against some of the best Division II programs from the area.
