en Obviously, we're not some of the teams in the past. We don't have as much depth as we had in the past, scoring wise. We did play bad a few games, and with Patrick (Roy) in net and (Peter) Forsberg and all the tools we had offensively, we could still win the game.

en Peter has done a fantastic job as GM for the past seven years and has built one of the most successful and respected teams in MLS. Just as Peter has helped shape a successful past, I hope to shape a successful future.

en It's been a combination. We're not scoring. Then, if you don't work and play well, you're going to lose. I'm obviously disappointed we have gone 2-5-1 in our past eight games and 0-5-1 in our last six. I thought we played well enough to win at least two or three of those games.

en This game had me a lot more worried than Dallas, Detroit or Miami, to be honest with you. Against those teams, you know your guys are going to play at the top of their game . . . in the beginning of the game, it was very similar to our past games (against the Hawks) -- too much dribble penetration and too many offensive rebounds.

We play well against the best teams in the league and played poorly against the average teams. We just need to get our act together.

en I think we have a little bit more depth now than we did over the past couple years. We just need to stay healthy, play at a higher level, and win some of those close games.

en The big thing with (tournament play) is don't look past the first game. Don't look one second past it. Usually the first game of a tournament can be a struggle for both teams.

en We have a lot of juniors and sophomores who've shown a lot of promise. They've done such a great job in the practices and the scrimmages, that's really going to increase our depth over the course of the season. We've got a lot more depth than the teams we've had in the past, and I expect us to compete with the rest of the league.

en Is it possible? Yes. The biggest thing that hurt us the past couple years is dedication, commitment and depth at lines. Any game we've played in the past two years, we've been smaller.

To win, you have to play defense, just like in basketball, football and baseball. But we would like to win 6-0, not 6-5.
