en What I've learned late in my career is, regardless of whether you play well or not, if the team doesn't win, it's all for nothing,

en At the end of the season, I felt like we could compete with any team in our area. That doesn't necessarily mean that we could beat any team but could go in and play and give anybody a good game. Early on, we didn't do the things it took to finish games. We first had to teach the girls how to compete. Once we learned how to compete, then we had to learn how to win. By the end of the season we learned how to finish games. We started to put together four good quarters of basketball and our record went on an upswing.

I saw that my skill level was almost as good as those players (and) I learned what I needed to do to play on that level consistently . . . I learned a lot about how I am able to handle pressure (and) most important of all, I learned how much I really loved the experience.

en I have no regrets about not playing Division I. I love it here at Saint Rose. It doesn't matter to me that we are Division II. Basketball is the same game no matter where you play. en I thought our team learned something over the (Rutgers loss). They have learned to be honest when they don't play up to their standards.

en I wasn't really concerned about [other teams]. I was thinking about my own team. I've learned not to sell them short. I've learned when we're down 17 last night [to Indiana before rallying to win] the game is not over. They battle, and they like to play. We know we have some shortcomings but they try to stay organized, they move the ball, they try to play together, and when you do that, success is going to follow at some point ? it's just a matter of time.

en in the twilight of his career. He knows that every year he comes back, he's getting closer to not playing anymore. He's had a great career in the National Football League.
